@Are0h@popstar From each according to their ability, to each according to their need.
If you have harrassers on you, you shouldn't have to feel afraid to ask for help. Likewise, if you see someone who's being harassed and have the energy, help them out.
Together, we can build not only a better social media space, but also a better offline world.
8chan has made it clear that even allowing access to sites that are known to spawn & nurture violent ideologies by hosting them is no longer acceptable.
So why are you still hosting apps that allow access to each of these sites? Passivity is clearly not allowed anymore, and so the line can't be drawn at active promotion, yet every one of the following apps are available on your main repos:
Earth: -suffering from heat stroke, including flashes of hot and cool temperatures throughout the atmosphere due to failing temperature regulation systems-
Hello, I'm here for lucid takes about how the world is full of shitty people who get away with shit because the ruling class is made up of shitty people and the genuinely good people have no power.
Also for gayness, open and accessible tech, and organizing against the shitty people to take back our power.
And most importantly, DON'T FUCKING CRITICIZE MARGINALIZED PEOPLE FOR TRYING TO FIGHT THOSE ABOVE THEM -- ESPECIALLY IF YOU'RE MARGINALIZED YOURSELF!
There's no single, right way to do it, so put your efforts towards helping them succeed and stop wasting people's time and energy with your concern trolling. Fight fascists, not the ones who are fighting fascists.
If you develop software, make it unfriendly to fascists. Design the features to allow for such hateful ideologies to actively be pushed out. And design it so that even you are held to account by your users.
I love how Mastodon is 100% functional and contains zero trackers.
It's almost as if you don't need trackers to make a functioning site and any trackers on other sites are wholly unnecessary and should be fought against on every possible level...
Trans women are brilliant. Remember this every time you look at your phone. It's thanks to a trans woman that we have the low-power ARM processors in our phones. Without them, our phones would require batteries the size of the ones used in laptops.
Whenever someone compliments you on your phone, proudly say "A trans woman made it." Then point to theirs and say "A trans woman made that one too."
And as a trans woman, I say "You're welcome, cis. Now stop firing, evicting, & murdering us for it."
Bloatware needs to go away for good. If your users can't uninstall stuff that isn't critical to the operation of the device, your product is a piece of crap.
I can uninstall the wifi drivers on my desktop ffs. It's not critical to operation since I can use the system without it.
So imagine how I feel about a phone/tablet that doesn't even let you remove the online search app.
