Be carefull with the #Raspberry pi 4 #microSD card removal and placing it back on. Use soft hands.

Dont forget that #raspberry pi 4 will output #4k at #60 fps only through #HDMI 2. So all your older peripherals are out of range and will run at 30 fps

Have ordered a #raspberry pi 4 GB variant, a class 10 micro SD, a microhdmi to #HDMI #cable for all the #4k goodness at 60fps and the official power adaptor. Couldn't get a case for the same. Will have to wait for it. Planning to rest my laptop.... let us see. Will be running multiple os as usual. Will put up #raspbian, #retropi, #openelec. Once setup will try for a cheap ssd and boot from it. #berryboot seems to be awesome for the job. Kudos to all the devs and users of this fantastic project.

For a change, thank you #Apple for ushering in the #dark mode in both the #mobile and #desktop arena. If they hadn't done it, everybody else would have dragged their feet for its implementation.

On this day a year ago we started with a small side project to host OpenBSD VMs on OpenBSD.

We couldn't imagine the interest that followed, 283 VMs, 8 hosts dedicated to vmm(4)/vmd(8).

Thank you all! And a huge thanks to @mlarkin, @reyk and Ori Bernstein

Looks like the linux kernel people finally found something to replace their hardcore love of Google+ after it died, https://people.kernel.org/. its using @write_as as its backend which is awesomely open and federated with activity pub.

It was shocking that #clover cannot recognise neither the freebsd partition nor the #openbsd one. It can boot #gnu/Linux and #windoze. The #refind bootloader is awesome. It is one piece of software i cant leave without. Huge shoutout to everybody involved in this project. The refind boitloader boots gnu/Linux, openbsd, freebsd and macos on my lappy. Great.

Until I installed a #hackintosh on my #HP lappy all guides on the public network were too complicated. Once you get the hang of the terminology, the different edits, the kexts, you come to know that you can do only so much. This is in direct contrast to the unlimited things u can try on #gnu/Linux and the #bsd's. I have been thinking/trying since many years. Now, the time was ripe since I handed over the macbook pro to my son.

I've finally managed to open-source this project which I created at work, but which is now also in use by Mastodon:

    https://github.com/woltapp/blurhash

There is a nice little demo page where you can play with it here:

    https://blurha.sh

Toot! already supports it for image placeholders while loading, but other clients should easily be able to include it too.

    So...

MacMini Intel Core i3, 8GB of RAM, 128GB HDD = 1099 euros with Mac OS X.

Intel NUC Intel Core i3, 8GB of RAM, 960GB M2.SSD = 575 euros. (no OS, but either Linux or *BSD will work)

    Apple, seriously, W-T-F?

We just donated €210 to the #OpenBSD Foundation, totaling €2750 so far.

We added a new host and 21 VMs in May, 30 more available on server8.

    Thank you all!
