"Just install linux, what could go wrong"
@alicerunsonfedora nope, it's a self-hosted article reading/saving service (think pocket)

browsing my rss feeds and my current setup makes me so happy. syncing between my phone and computers flawlessly while running in a nice pretty application on both. all running through FOSS software.
makes me want a nice pretty client for my wallabag instance too
im still not quite at the point of putting masto back on my phone
other things i wanted to configure tonight:
* git hooks for static site generation
* ripcord instead of electron for slack/discord (cancel.fm)
* hop onto the aether network (getaether.net)
* ascii drawing tool for vim (Drawit) or in general
and i made varying degrees of progress on all of them, which was fun.
if only i was up for some creative coding or music making that would've really made my night a blast.
spent my night configuring certain automation software that makes, uhh, acquiring media through not entirely appropriate sources. wasn't as hard as i imagined but still a little left to go to totally get to the ease I want.
i've missed being a sysadmin for my life.
When I hear people talking about the "importance of IP" in business, especially folks working for gov't investment agencies, I always think a) they've bought into a bunch of flawed concepts, and b) they have little idea of what "IP" means. There, I've said it.
it does feel sparser
though not quite back to using a client yet
we'll see how i feel.
though not quite back to using a client yet
working on it.
even though i have my rss feeds, though they need to be better curated.
thinking about making a comeback here
doesnt seem like much has changed and im sick of reading hacker news for "new" things tbh
@thegibson link?
inb4 "free speech!"
I AM not a public service nor is speaking to me a constitutional right (in the US). It's a privilege (not in a snobby sense but that it's something I extend to you on my own agency).
I think to not accept this is to not accept my agency to control what I hear/see/say.
Hey, this zine that I worked on in out. NODE Vol 01, free digital release and physical preorder, https://n-o-d-e.net/nodevol01.html
This first volume is 150 pages long, and, it's packed with features on P2P projects, such as Dat, Beaker, Ricochet IM, Aether. There are tutorials showing projects like the new NODE Mini Server, 3D print long range wifi antennas, how to chat via packet radio, and how to Libreboot the Thinkpad X200. There's also a handy open source directory at the back, and more!
@Sargoth have not heard about this author, will check it out 😁👍
