all automation systems online
lets take this baby for a spin
but first, gotta update the notebook.
lowkey want a fancy sounding name for my #memex but haven't thought of one yet

ughhh, got one of the automation puzzle pieces setup on bowl (homeserver) but not the other and they both use mono and it's driving me up the wall
i think i need to move to something else.
time to play with my pi and configure pi-hole?? :smirk:
We live in a world where stealing our attention is the most profitable business. Yet, knowledge work demands long periods of focused attention to get anything worthwhile done. We must constantly fight to protect our attention from the myriad of digital and physical distractions. Constant distraction is our default state now unless we take active steps to create focus.
@mgiagante im used to bspwm on my desktop and really miss it on my laptop tbh. tiling window managers are dope.
gnome is a heavy beast and probably consumes a lot of battery life, but it does make certain things easier for a laptop.
@loke for me it was reading about org mode and running os as emacs. hearing about people's setup from org mode > pandoc (some elisp equilivant?) > website/notes or hearing about magit and code diffs and web browsing seemed magical. i'm not sure i can remember the exact resources though.
i switched to spacemacs but couldn't quite get used to it and eventually went to nvim.
@mgiagante @mgiagante ehhh, i'm used to debian/apt so i didn't bother changing it. it's okay?? seems reasonable enough, it does the job. i dont mind the only free as in freedom repo situation as much as i thought i might (plus its easy to add other repos) is there something in particular you're worried about?
sometimes the boot decryption screen doesnt show and i have to restart, but that's just when booting. once i'm in everything works well. except bluetooth, have to install proprietary drivers for that.
@endomain it certainly isnt dead, but it sure moves slowly. ssb and dat have weak interlap between communities
why did you think it was dead?
@mgiagante i own one. i really enjoy it. well built machine, and runs solidly. battery lasts about 5 - 7 hours generally. only thing i dont like is the mushy keyboard tbh.
happy owner of a librem13 v3

now i want to setup the git hook such that it automatically updates my dat page too...
that's horribly out of date...
status of things i wanted to do:
* git hooks completed
* ripcord configured, .desktop file not yet working (i always struggle with these...)
* DrawIt and asciio both installed, now I just gotta figure out how they work and which one I want to use
the only thing i couldn't do was fucking install the snap package for aether because it's a nightmare. even after i installed it, it wouldn't start up, and wouldn't spit any error messages. no fix on the forums. oh well, guess no aether, that's fine.
hmmm, perhaps not all of it, but certainly some of it i will have to
im worried i might have spent all my efforts last night in vain.
i think i'll have to reinstall them on my local homeserver :?
