Periodic reminder of what #Google looks like now in one of the first #browser that was used to surf the web. Compared to the first website from CERN.
But much like the myths of the "welfare queen" or the myth of trans women "attacking" cis women in bathrooms, centrists and right-wingers fabricate beliefs out of whole cloth in order to excuse and deflect from their own bigotry. The welfare queen myth arose when black women were among the most under-employed demographic for their education level, and the myths about dangerous trans women arose despite the fact that trans women are among the groups most at risk of violence.
@harishsays "everyone must go through a sort of pain. either the pain of discipline, or the pain of regret"

@hackiechan @tariquesani hah, you've got me to reconsider my position, and anyone who can do that i respect immensely.
re-reading your toot I see how i was projecting my own ideas onto you.
though still if you ask me, the internet exacerbates the problem that we all seem to face because of it. family and personal issues are certainly a big part (perhaps even majority? I'm unsure). honestly its difficult for me to understand, i come to the internet to vent about these issues.
those who are facing other meat world issues are more then i claim to understand
i feel personally attacked
people who dont know me in any digital spaces only really understand a part of me
The more CVEs I read, the more convinced I am that any computing apparatus significantly more complex than a slide rule was a mistake
@ajroach42 @tek ironically by trying not to be a problem and attempting to be accommodating, they became the problem
@archivist_Liz ughhhh i hate this about my job too :( it sucks
@wlrn SwiftKey user here
some malaphors I think about:
-we'll burn that bridge when we get to it
-if you can't stand the bull, get out of the china shop
-where there's smoke, there's mirrors
-fool me once, shame on you; teach a man to fool me, and I'll be fooled for the rest of my life
-come back to haunt you in the ass
-lets not beat around the dead horse
-beauty is in the eye of the tiger
-burning daylight at both ends
-apples to apples, dust to dust
-a stone in the hand is worth two birds in the bush
tonight is gonna be a late night
@DC502 welcome :)
conjecture: even if your values stay the same, your ideals should change as you learn more
implication: if your ideals aren't changing, you might not be learning
i didnt expect to be this emotional saying goodbye to my work colleagues :/
