@hcs What sort of position are the shower and walls in then? π
Maybe use a tension curtain rod? Perhaps you can find bars that use suction cups as well. I'm not sure if that's useful without knowing more about the situation. π

Steve Gibson on HTML pings:
"Imperva research has uncovered a DDoS attack [β¦] to perform distributed denial of services attacks [β¦]. In one attack, which peaked at 7500 requests per second, a total of 70 million requests were generated from approximately 4,000 IP address over the course of 4 hours."
See: https://grc.com/sn/SN-710-Notes.pdf
So, HTML pings (which are there for many years) are not only bad for privacy but also for security.

https://www.ted.com/talks/laura_galante_how_to_exploit_democracy?language=en
Galante posited that the simplest way to take down a democracy is to turn its most powerful asset, the open minds of citizens, into a vulnerability.
"You need to get people in democracies to start questioning the system, to make it occur to them that their institutions are failing them, that the country they knew is in freefall," she said. "To do that, you need to infiltrate the information spheres of these democracies."
Galante noted that for a long time, the general public was more focused on the content of the hacked DNC emails than the news that the hacks came from a known Russian intelligence unit called APT 28 (also known as Pawn Storm or Fancy Bear).

@machi Well, #gender itself is very much a hormonal and psychological phenomenon, among other factors, for everyone. That does not mean gender is not a spectrum.
Are you saying that you have not heard of non-binary gender expressions and identities, or that you are aware of them and believe them to be illegitimate?
Wikipedia has a good article explaining these concepts (see https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Genderqueer). Bill Nye also has an excellent episode on gender in his Netflix show. #lgbtq

@machi Ah, but the world we live in is not a black and white one.
Gender -- like sexuality, like neurodiversity -- is a spectrum. Some people are in between, gender-fluid, or even neither.
Even if a lot of people don't identify themselves this way, many express themselves in non-binary presentations.

The web browser Brave is marketed as a privacy-friendly ad-free alternative, but that's pretty disingenuous.
Brave exists not to protect privacy, but to make money from selling ads.
Brave is a commercial company funded by venture capital. Its business model is selling advertising and cryptocurrency investment.
One of Brave's owners is Peter Thiel's Founders Fund. Thiel is also the head of Palantir (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Palantir_Technologies) and on the board of Facebook.
I do not recommend using Brave.

@oolongstains Ya. Strange. They were so cheap! Oh, well. They can be had for like $65 online elsewhere. So that's cheap enough. I'm thinking of getting something like that for when my nephew is over.
There's some other neat retro consoles around the same price that look official as well -- Genesis, Atari. Hmm.
