@dansup Looks great! One piece of feedback is that "Join the Federation" should probably say "Join the Fediverse".
The Federation is in fact a different set of platforms, and largely is not pulled together via ActivityPub or OStatus.

Personal take: self-promotion is the one thing you don't have to and shouldn't CW.
We WANT to support you. We WANT to see the cool stuff you're doing. Don't hide your light under the bushel of a CW.

@nightpool Fun fact: a collaborator of mine, Christopher Allen, was both largely responsible for TLS/SSL design and also was wholeheartedly against certificate authorities (he wanted SPKI/SDSI)
Thus, I like to call him "TLS CA", a name he doesn't like to be referred to as

@nightpool are you trying to get me to say "petnames"?
Because the answer is petnames https://github.com/cwebber/rebooting-the-web-of-trust-spring2018/blob/petnames/draft-documents/making-dids-invisible-with-petnames.md

@thor On top of that, border control is a red herring. Regarding border control for people, UK already isn't part of Schengen. As for border control for goods, yeah, that's what not being in the common market is for, and May wants to be in the common market.
If brexiters wanted to simply keep the Poles out ... first of all wrecking the pound by announcing brexit already achieved that, and second ... common market includes free movement of labor. So, again, screwed.
As a member of the EEA you're not required to adapt the Euro, but the UK already had an exception for that too. That's another Brexit red herring. In conversation from social.heldscal.la permalink -
Thor, the Norseman has moved! (thor@snabeltann.no)'s status on Tuesday, 08-May-2018 17:26:03 EDT
Thor, the Norseman has moved!
For purposes of sovereignty and border control, an EEA membership is an EU membership without the right to vote. You don't leave the EU only to stay in the EEA. The EEA is deliberately bad in order to push the member countries in the direction of an EU membership. For Norway, an EU membership wouldn't really offer much of a benefit, though. There's not much Norway can do if the big countries push a piece of legislation. Britain has far more influence as an EU country, for example.
