time to start chipping away at another metal gear game I never played when it came out. I used to watch a friend play it for hours at a time when I was a kid.

I've never grown grapes before so this is a v exciting development. hope I get to harvest some of these before the birds get them.

my phone's camera sucks at focusing but here is a picture of one of the ramps I planted in the spring going to seed.

this cherry tree just keeps on giving. third time we've harvested from it.

another step closer to done. metal roof installed. was planning on doing more siding today but Lowe's was out of shiplap.

spending real time in the garden for the first time in awhile since I have some time off work. makes me wish I could spend more time doing this. there is so much stuff going on right now.

harvested the last of the garlic scapes and more peas. the grape vine has tiny fruits on it for the first time. the first heirloom tomato has fruited. the eggplants and squash are flowering. the angels trumpet is getting ready to pop, as are the bee balm, sunflowers, and black eyed susan. comfrey root fragments that I planted last fall have their first leaves. blueberries are ripening. there's an enormous amount of blackberries that will be ripe soon. I could go on and on. oh, also a ton of weeds! its not all glamorous out here.

the girls have been living in their coop since Sunday, but today I finally added a roosting bar and hangers for their food and water. I sure hope they like the new additions.

also, the funny looking stuff on the wall is a giant sheet of cheap vinyl that acts a moisture barrier so the plywood underneath won't rot. it covers the entire floor.

the dwarf sour cherry tree in our yard that previous residents planted is really amazing. we've filled 3 gallon freezer bags with pitted cherries and there's still more on the tree.
