dining room painted. I actually did a thing today. (okay there's still some touch-ups to do and a few radiator covers to paint but the walls and trim are done!!!)

I am painting my dining room now, at least. getting through it.

love to be awake from 1am to 4am and then dismiss my alarm at 7am and fall back asleep and then wake up in a panic 10 minutes later and rush out the door. definitely going to be operating at 100% at work today.

big thanks to @insom for telling me that I don't have to buy a new mouse and can easily repair the one I have had for over a decade. it was registering double left clicks when I only pressed once. it was slightly tricky to get at those 3 solder pins sandwiched between 2 PCBs but my beloved Logitech G5 is as good as new! the original microswitch was rated for 10 million clicks and the new one is rated for 20 million, so here's to hoping it lasts another decade!

wow, National Geographic posted this short video about a food forest in the UK. this is the most mainstream media source I've seen talk about permaculture (though they don't say permaculture in the video).

@kirstyyarr @GwenfarsGarden I made the same mistake with kittens and seedlings. I left the seedlings out in the open and the seedling trays became a litter box. now all of my seed starting happens in a room that they are not allowed into.

@GwenfarsGarden @kirstyyarr my cats do the same thing every so often. I often put rocks on top of the soil to deter them but sometimes they dig anyway.

a death metal song called Forced Repotting about when my cat digs all of the soil out from around a potted plant and dumps it onto the floor.

@thurloat the company I work for uses cloudflare. they provide a valuable service for sure but it is alarming for any one company to be handling this much of internet traffic.

according to Cloudflare, 10% of internet traffic passes through their data centers. kinda scary.

@cxcf now that I've boasted about how I just can't be bothered to replace it I just looked them up on amazon and there's a ton. not very expensive to replace.

@cstanhope yeah I don't even know if it would keep the internet connection alive if the power went out (assuming I had battery backup for the router) so I'm not sure f it's worth the $20 or whatever it would cost to get a new one.

the battery for the verizon fios equipment in the basement is dead and the box makes a somewhat loud beep every hour or so. it's been like this for 2 years and I just can't be bothered to fix it because the battery looks like a smaller version of a car battery and I've never seen that before.
