    • Gardening
    Doing gardening in my college (kine of guerilla as I don't own the land, but there is now rule against students gardening) . Badly need a wheelbarrow to transport soil and cow dung (yes, there are stray cows in campus) in large quantities. Right now managing with small plastic bags in my bicycle's panniers, but it is too small a quantity and ends my dirtying my panniers.

    Sweden has had a relatively benign govt and people mostly don't use cash. But there is unease with going 100% cashless - what would one do incase the payment system fails? Or if the govt becomes dangerous?

    For all its flaws, cash is an extremely reliable and crisis proof alternative. The same cannot be said about digital cash.

    Computer emergency response team (India) whines why people don't report incidents to them. Who will report to you when Indian govt FIRs people instead of rewarding them? Or simply don't reply to repeated emails about bugs? Even the staunchest patriot will stop reporting if you cannot reward them by recognising their contribution in some form - either money or recognition. This would be a hilarious if India didn't have the oozing monster called UIDAI.

    The day after: Lower right leg sore. Quite surprising as usually I don't get so sore after a 40km trip. May be I'm losing fitness due to irregular fitness routine.

    Did a 45km cycling trip today with ambient heat index peaking at 43°C (level: danger). It felt hot and the cross breeze varied between being cool and warm. Overall it felt comfortably hot rather than dangerously hot. I drank lots of water and had jack fruit as food.
