The value of capitalist efforts like SpaceX is that they show an ecosystem of space tech infrastructure can be built for an order of magnitude lower capital-intensiveness and cost than previous state efforts. The next step will be to show that cooperative, post-capitalist models like commons-based peer production can do it a further order of magnitude cheaper than capitalist corporations.
