End(ish) of a long day here involving cake, mead, and a diorama of emotions. Need #son2 to flake out, and some sort of alcohol. Mindfulness vs kids is just a losing battle. !parenting
@natecull fair critique. I think punk is an ongoing battle, a process, rather than a solution. Disruption keeps people on their toes, and ideally opens up opportunities that weren't there before. Punk isn't necessarily equality though. Certainly not a forced equality that comes from centralisation.

@paulfree14 @fairphone As a Fairphone 2 user, I'd agree *but* need Google integration to make the phone useful. From the market adoption side, Google-as-default makes sense. On the plus side, owning a FP has increased my (pre-existing) affinity for open source/culture, and I'm getting (re-) interested in it all, but most people don't want to make a big jump in one go. Too much disruption. Better to take lots of small steps in the right direction, and for companies to help make this easy.
@benhamill Good post - so easy to get lazy with job ads, and just "default" to some weird Silicon Valley expectation. I ended up listing communication and collaboration skills ahead of technical skills in our last developer ad, as I think teamwork is much more important (and harder to learn) than programming skills. Also +1 to knowing your organisation values.
