@showerpickles those "wait, this literally feels like it was just yesterday. not metaphorically, literally" feels, yup
@leila it's all revolving around the primary characters, and it takes a bit (like a couple of seasons, at least) to really get going, so.
someone did an alternate viewing schedule that bypasses a lot of season one. we haven't tried it, but it might help
@DellaDragoness never. we could be a brain stem in a jar, with a steady supply of caffiene on demand, and it'd be like "ok, that's too much"
Thousands of Chileans March in Memory of Pinochet's Victims
we're open to suggestions, but i don't think this is a "common ground" kind of issue. especially regarding people who are fash-adjacent, or at the barest of minimums, indifferent to fash presence on here because "free speech" or whatever, including while they keep baiting people. suspend the instance or individual, move on
there's things i could say here (and did, in part) but i just...tbh, i'm stepping back again. none of us need this, and it probably shouldn't have been posted in the first place
rrrrrrr!
ok, done now. smh /facepalm
(this is why we stay out of shit. but one eye open).
not to mention that it's dogwhistling entryism, over standing disagreements in tactics and approach.
basically, fuck off if you're trying to move in on people like that.
you may think people don't know the difference, but i feel confident in saying that we do.
i have a *very* clear picture in my head about the difference between people who have critiqued twitter-like social patterns on here (to *some* degree), clout farming, and a relative lack of de-escalation and literal fash-adjacent nonsense. i will take the former any day of the week over people trying to use that as cover for their own loyalties to racists and so on.
@showerpickles after the iraq war in 1991, finding out that cheney was going to be VP freaked me out even more than Bush becoming president, because of how likely it would be that he'd wind up running everything as some sort of hegemonic mastermind. which basically is what happened
@showerpickles right? "aw, grandpa's off on the ranch, painting landscapes!" ugh
who knows what cheney is doing, but it's probably not that
@showerpickles on that exact date, i decided that if the Bush administration was going to declare martial law, i may as well go do laundry first, so i did
which led to someone telling me "i hope they catch the race of people who did this" in the laundrymat while i was waiting for our shorts to dry
now that someone has apparently gotten the idea that 9/11 jokes are a pasttime on here, let's make 9/11 jokes a pasttime on here
the "i don't care" voice in this old xtranormal bit about apple is basically what my head sounds like whenever people get all treacly-yet-murdery about 9/11
@showerpickles 😂 "our bathrooms *are* breeding bolsheviks!" 😈
*hugo weaving voice*
so, you're joking about 9/11, i see
"actually, i would, because -"
*Agent Smith-like minions appear out of nowhere*
@showerpickles XD omg
next to "because i'm a billionaire", "because 9/11" is *the* standing justification for whatever the fuck people with a shit-ton of political power want to do. if you're missing that, you're missing basically everything. shame on you for trying to underhandly uphold that kind of repression.
