@oreolek 15 minutes is the maximum "hilfsfrist" in germany (the time within which an ambulance should definitely be able to reach 95% of the population), and for the most part, that goal is reached! In densely populated areas, the targets are as low as 9 minutes, even!
modern emergency medical response is honestly crazy impressive, anyways (a target time for having a professional medical response team there for 95% of the population in 15 minutes or less?),
and modern basic life support training is also an incredibly refined and impressive thing with the focus on how to drill algorithms that's motivated by how to get people to actually do things in stressful emergency situations
(also, god forbid, but if you ever ARE in a situation where you might have to use one: They are EXTREMELY simple to use. You open them, and they'll give you very simple and clear voice instructions on EXACTLY what do do - so don't be scared to.)
seriously, I'm so hype for this (I was one of the people who pushed for us to buy one)
Easily and quickly accessible AEDs are one of the easiest ways to dramatically improve emergency medical care. And I mean dramatically. Early defibrillation makes your chances go from "you will likely not survive cardiac arrest" to "you will most likely survive, likely with no brain damage"
if you can make your workplace get an AED, please do, and make them put it in a publicly accessible location with good signage!
got one of these spammy "speaker/chair invitations but it's for the most communist china looking conference I have ever seen http://www.worldeduday.com/
