@gemlog @skiring @HerraBRE I used Greencloud a while back before it became Advania (or something like that) and eventually shut down their cloud. ISNIC is straight forward but the hosts were less polished last I looked. 1984 has been around a while now and looks fairly stable. I'll likely just keep hosting on my raspberry pi.

@gemlog I've done about 4 months worth of formal lessons so far and I can slowly decipher words enough here and there to get by. If I know the context of an article like the one I linked, I can get the general information. It's a long way to go, but I'll get there. @HerraBRE won't have to speak english to me forever (though my boy could probably help his daughter with her english and vice versa)

@gemlog i love it so much. it's absurdly difficult to learn, but it's also relatively unchanged since the writing of the old sagas, so they can be read like modern books. I despirately want to do just that! Also, once we're comfortable speaking it, if we ever travel outside iceland it's like we have a secret language nobody can listen-in on. That sounds really fun.
