When support for Win7 ends in 2020 it's easy to imagine a lot of people will be migrating to Linux.

Spydows just keeps getting shittier and Linux keeps getting better.

Then we've got Vulkan on the horizon and it's not hard to see that the days of that M$ surveillance engine being the "avid users OS" are numbered.

    DirectXShaderCompiler now runs on Linux.

Cross-compiling from HLSL to Vulkan's SPIR-V shader format.

This is a tool for converting one subtype of DirectX code to Vulkan. Formerly the tool only ran on M$ Spydows.

Easier porting to Linux to use Linux as actual development platform when migrating to Vulkan.

Another small step of the now many steps in making Vulkan support practical for more different use-cases!

I've recently seen plenty of Linux gamers get excited about DXVK and it is an interesting technology. However, you should remember that buying Windows games to play with it doesn't really help Linux gaming. "No Tux No Bux" is still the most reliable way to support the platform and make sure it develops on all levels.

I very strongly believe the future of the web is people taking back control their space rather than relying on the convenience of using the services of corporate structures.

These places time and time again have proven they do not have our interest at heart and exploit our desire for convenience for their gain.

We gotta flip the script and stop expecting places who have never had our interests in mind to change.

We can do better. We don't need them.

DXVK has a new 0.60 release.

The Witcher 3 is just about completely playable now on Linux, which is amazing, also worrying.

The devs are seeing this as: "no need to port it to Linux, a Wine-wrapper for them 2nd class citizen penguins".

And the evil M1cros0$t continues to rake in the license fees for DX12.

Maybe to play those kind of games through another means, no money for Linux hostile instances. Play at friends house or...

@daftspaniel I once lost much stuff due to a bug in Ubuntu installer... Like, you know, a whole large partition. Was quite near to insanity for a while but in the end this experience made me stronger :thinkhappy:
