      PeerTube: An Open Source YouTube Alternative To Beat Censorship
      By Aditya Tiwari from Fossbytes
      As the name suggests, the P2P-based video sharing platform is decentralized, just like BitTorrent. People can host videos on their individual instance (a PeerTube server) which has its own audience.

    "This looks amazing! However if this gets big Google will shut you down and copy any useful features back into YouTube.

    Instead, why not scrape all the videos (those with the right licenses of course) and put them on #PeerTube?"

    PeerTube fundraiser!

    A free and federated video platform.

    YouTube (Google) recently blocked Blender videos worldwide (!) for monetizing reasons. Blender did not want to put up ads in their videos. Blender is a free and open source 3D creation suite.

    PeerTube works in the same way as a regular BitTorrent client. Take back the control of your videos! Let's help Peertube to achieve this.

    * Reep.io *

    Send out large as well as small files straight-forward, fast and more secure to a friend using P2P (peer-to-peer) technology.

    Transfer files directly to another browser indeed without uploading the file to a server first. Only a "handshake" is performed.

    The file will no longer be available after closing the browser window.

    Reep.io is naturally open source, also.

    Linux Snappy, Flatpak, and AppImage. Which one is the best universal packaging format and how do they differ?

    Does it matter? This article he did recently on Datamation is a good place to get started and helps shed some light on the differences between Snappy, Flatpak, and AppImage for Linux.
