@thaj @lostnbronx me too. I like opengamingstore.com too. But neither carry Starfinder Core Rulebook [yet?]

@lostnbronx I think the direct route: paizo.com
Alternate book vendor I recently discovered and don't hate (cuz they don't charge extra to ship): bookdepository.com
I don't think any of the other sites have starfinder yet; it's too new.

@thaj
This is the limited progress I've made on the Chromebook->Arduino issue. Have not investigated the one responder's suggestion yet.http://www.chromeosquestions.org/threads/566-Arduino-on-a-chromebook

Funny thing about FB and Twitter and others: people seem to think that usage == ownership. So you get people who *use* these social media, and believe that they also therefore have some say in how they are governed. "We use this thing, so we get to petition for change."
They don't realise they own 0% of the platform. Petitioning for change is pointless, because in spite of your rage, you're still just a rat in a cage.
side note: that's catchy, someone should use it as a song lyric.

@architect The firmware issue, I think, is separate. I'd run open firmware if I could, but then I'd have to throw out all my rescued computers, which I use largely so that I don't contribute to environment damage and capitalistic interests.
Running an open OS does not require that, and in fact enables it.
I'm asking why someone willfully running a closed OS champions the open web.

Honest question, mastodon: what is the moral foundation of requiring/championing an "open web" when you're using a closed OS?
Like, why *does* the web need to be open when [if] the stack you use it on is not? What's the difference?

My girlfriend turned on the telly for some background noise. It was horrible.
Am I to understand that it's 2017 and we are still producing shows with laugh tracks?
With laugh tracks?

Imagine my disappointment to find that the DND function on my phone meant "do not disturb" rather than "Dungeons and Dragons".
