This long read manages to be both deeply conservative and surprisingly progressive (is this centrism?). I thought a lot about kinship and created/chosen family when we were much more certain that we were only going to have one child, but it's almost more important with multiple children because you gotta get people to help share the burden so you can really enjoy the good parts.
