"Honestly you could grind this out in a few weeks"
This is for a reputation in BfA required for story advancement. No wonder this expansion has shit retention.
-
Oh, we're doing the 'calling people we don't like nazis' thing again. Time to sandbox the network timeline into being not fucking exasperating again.
-
@purplehippo WHERES THE DART GUN
-
Even then its kind of half-arse apologism rather than actually trying to say she did something good or laudable, though.
-
I find it really cute they're trying to retcon Jaina into someone likeable. I guess they realized making her female Hitler wasn't working.

@cdmnky @karen I was raised that if you can't understand the code without comments, you're writing shit code. I still try to comment neatly though.
-
@ninjawedding Pfft, that's got nothing on tabs versus spaces
-
@mikael The way into the software appears to have been an intentionally-made backdoor for just this purpose.
-
@bob Its also likely being used to suppress results other than in China too.
-
@purplehippo There's been much more in your face christian shit that people were okay with until it came out how he was intentionally manipulating people. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3JHaMM3LYck Even then a lot of people defended him. So it always comes across as disingenuous to me when people complain on religious grounds.
-
@purplehippo Meh he has some very backwards beliefs about something but to my knowledge he never really put it in his works. Course for some people they need the things they enjoy to be ideologically pure or whatever so they get catty about it. You know, it's been so long since the last time people were assembling around that maypole of controversy that I honestly forget what exactly the questionable beliefs were, but I do remember that I kinda agreed that they were a bit shit. But they were also personal and he wasnt getting in my face so I didnt really care.

Google's also saber-rattling at it's employees about leaks.
It knows its doing bad, bad things with the China search.
It doesn't want us to know how bad.

"Google's Censored Search Would Help China 'Be More Open', Said Ex-CEO Eric Schmidt"
Ignorance is strength
Slavery is freedom
War is peace

@halcy May you suffer from peeling noses into the fifth generation.
-
@6gain its unlikely this is a "hack" but rather the use of a backdoor.
-
@bob Apple's code signing has been forged several times in the past, so it's kind of silly they're trying to say that's what secures this, to me.
-
@bob The means of operation as I understand it is basically embedding javascript into a NFC tag which the phone then receives and executes. They have some sort of signing method, but I doubt it's foolproof. We'll probably see exploits on this as soon as people figure out how to forge credentials.
-
@aral I am somewhat skeptical that this is a hack or exploit, from what I've read into this, it appears more they found a back-door not intended for them and used it for interception.

"An Israeli firm accused of supplying tools for spying on human-rights activists and journalists now faces claims that its technology can use a security hole in WhatsApp, the messaging app used by 1.5 billion people, to break into the digital communications of iPhone and Android phone users (Warning: source may be paywalled; alternative source). Security researchers said they had found so-called spyware -- designed to take advantage of the WhatsApp flaw -- that bears the characteristics of technology from the company, the NSO Group."
WhatsApp uses code which cannot be independently audited, therefore, it should be considered 100% insecure.
