    A trick we found recently in a recipe to make oven baked breaded chicken thighs that rivals fried chicken is to mix the chicken with mayo (and seasoning), then dip in breading (we use panko).

    Mayo is perfect for the job. It sticks well to chicken, all the oil in it makes the chicken fry when baked. It doesn't taste like mayo, it just tastes juicy and tender.

    @newt @Mitsu Apparently it's not really a year, that's just what the government puts to temper expectations. Basically it took a bit over 3 months for someone to look at the submitted papers and tell us there was a mistake. To refile them with the correction means going at the back of the queue. I imagine the reason might be to avoid incentivising people to send the papers badly filed quickly to get in queue, then fix them after at leisure.

    But it's still infuriating, because we hired that consultant specifically so that he could double check everything to make sure we don't have to refile.

    I'd want serial on it too. One less cable to lug around, and in my experience USB-serial adapters are usually cheaply built and have crappy drivers.

    If I was making a laptop that had physical room for it, I'd want VGA on it too. It's still the simplest way to be sure a projector won't give you problems. It's still more often that a conference room I see will be missing either HDMI or DisplayPort (and per Murphy's law, it'll be whichever one your laptop supports without a dongle) than VGA
