@dirb @ivesen this is the most condescending gold star I've ever seen. good stuff.
-
@karen no no, that just won't do. you guys have to work something out, even if that means splitting costs for a meetup.
-
@karen when was the last time you saw him?
-
@eal the sound of the CS-80, though ... wow. poly aftertouch to boot. (I had an old kurzweil which had it, and it's a slick feature.) tbh I think prophets are very, very overrated, and never much cared for them. but that's just me.
-
@karen why not go see him, then?
-
@karen how soon will you get to see him again?
-
@eal omg, yes -- what a packrat. The prophet 10 is probably rarer than the CS80, today (which is just very expensive).
-
@dirb that works, too.
-
@eal I didn't realise he was so big on sequential circuits? I guess I should have known better.
-
personally, I don't think the world is run by geniuses, by in large -- most of the real geniuses work for people with a lot more cunning than brains, which is a powerful enough of a skill in itself tbh.
-
@eal CS-80? yeshhhh.....
-
@elizafox my observation, too, is that what people tend to see as "smart" is hyper specialised/selective, and ignores the myriad ways they can be genuinely intelligent. it does everyone a disservice imho.
-
@dirb may I recommend using the bed in some fashion for your betterment?
For example, Exhibit A. https://gnusocial.de/attachment/4344013
-
@dirb no joke? wtf are you doing here, then? I can muck about with you anytime, but not if you're sick!
-
@kfist a keepawake stream is cool, too.
-
@ivesen @rye @eal if it seems all very complicated, that's because it is -- liberate yourself, and join the nvi terrorists.
-
@karen I remember when she first joined. She wasn't always good. (No offence intended, ms pasty.)
