-
@thatbrickster this.
-
@shpuld @tijagi @thatbrickster I'm cold blooded, too. I'd melt ...
-
@tijagi @rye all our currency becomes shekel in the end. ;;
-
@tijagi @rye I know, I know. I deserve whatever is coming to me for that one ...
-
@vilbi excellent. thank you!
-
@tijagi @rye
with natural change of seasons,
come natural change of @tijagi jobu.
with the wind in my hair,
my heart flutters --

@vilbi I think you are right. if the calculator didn't stay forever in desk drawer, then users were also programmers -- if nothing else, to justify the money they spent! ;-) but the benefit to learning was significant, and the manuals were very good. Even people who never used a computer before could learn to use these small marvels, and many did.
I do not like modern computers for this reason. their complexity and lack of transparency has made simple consumers of nearly all users ... it should not be like this imho.

@tijagi @rye I'll count two or three more job changes for you then I'll change mine. it seems a reasonable way to account for elapsed time.
-
@nerthos the distinction betw being in jail or out of it is failing anyway.
-
@nerthos why buy toilet paper when you've already got a wallet full of it?
-
@vilbi my pleasure, too! I think these early computers are still pretty remarkable.
-
@nerthos @japananon this person must have been in pretty dire straits to have arrived at the idea this would be good to do.
