The whole album is pretty good. It's not often I can get all the way through a #hiphop album. Of course, I did listen to some of it before lunch, and finish it up after, but I'm on track 11 now: https://2mellomakes.bandcamp.com/album/return-of-the-soul
I couldn't say if I ever contacted Maeth about Music Manumit, but I knew of their existence. I should pass their name to Mike and see if we can get them signed.
My personal opinion is we should work out an imprint for distribution of Hypnotic Dirge through our distributor and let them just keep on keepin' on, but I don't think Mike is going to want to do that. We've got the deal with Slamjamz, but Mike also runs that sight. He is the typical "tyrannical" designer, which is not necessarily a bad thing, but I have to pick and choose my battles, and that's one I'm not ready to fight yet.
I think I mentioned this in a global post, but one "national" event we are planning is in Yosemite. I'm not sure if that's something that would interest you. It's not for a long time (probably summer 2021), which is one reason why I wasn't jumping to give details in the G+ thread.
I am hoping to start promoting shows, but that's 100% not the focus of C4 at present.
I wonder if it's on Spotify. I think they like stuff on Spotify. Maybe they can just go with the original. At least I don't have to worry about the lyrics.
Any instrumentals from blocSonic people think I should check out? !ccmusic?
What about stuff in general? I need to pick a birthday song. My go-to would be Lords of the Trident or Altars of Grief, but probably neither is super work appropriate. Manly Witness by Lords of the Trident might work. I should give it a listen.
Anyway, since I probably am not going to be doing metal or punk, I figured I might try to find something on blocSonic. Lots of good stuff, but so far all of it is really NSFW.
@craigmaloney I'm going to talk to Tom about using the Music Manumit site for the events I'm doing. If Mike would ever finish #projectEqualize, I'd use that. Perhaps this will push him to do that.
There was probably projectEqualize info back on the old identica, or one of the old sites I used, but archive.org is probably the only way to get it these days. Only Mike can really say the ultimate vision for PE, but last we spoke, he was thinking about using one of the GNU Social/Mastodon forks build on Laravel, since Laravel is what Mike knows.
I'd welcome you doing a local chapter of C4. If that is something that might interest you, then we can talk more about details, but I know you are maxed out.
I suppose it's worth saying that if you don't attend these events, you can still be a part of the community. I think the groups will long be small enough for introverts, but if you prefer to be anonymous, that doesn't make your contributions any less valid.
