imagine if a terrorist attack targeted one of these countries and murdered innocent civilians, and instead of getting condemnation, it got celebrated or minimized. say an attack perpetrated by isis, or by some country’s armed forces.

I'm afraid I can't tell what question of mine you're responding to. your response seems disconnected from what I asked or wrote. I suppose we're miscommunicating.
if I were to apply your own apparent standards to your own posts, I'd have to conclude you're the one making absurd claims and lying, but I realize this would make for more heat than useful information in this conversation, so I won't apply them.
instead, I will try again to point out that you and we may very well have different experiences.
I suspect what you qualify as absurd claims are actually rhetorical devices intended to bring about the very kind of reaction you had, which, if your media experience was similar to ours, would lead to pondering and useful exploration of the media contradictions and hypocrisy.
since your media experience appears to be different, that doesn't work for you. but it doesn't invalidate the article, because there are people whose experience is as described. you might be surprised by how many people it applies to, and by how lucky and privileged you are that it doesn't apply to you
note that this is not about being able to find a counterexample or two in dissonant media, it's about taking note of dominant trends. being able to find the information in some non-maintstream news sources is not even close to the same as having it properly and fairly covered without too much bias in mainstream media. I hope you can see the difference.
-
do you feel that describing your fortunate (privileged?) local mainstream media experience somehow invalidates mine or hers?
if your local dominant media calls out Israel's war crimes, rather than defending Israel's supposed right to defend from the people it oppresses, casting doubt on anything that would make Israel look bad, and taking for granted anything that would make it look good, I wonder how it has affected local government's stances towards Israel. does it manage to prevail over US/NATO's dominance?

whew! my neo freerunner very nearly died because of a filesystem corruption on the removal storage device that was configured to mount-or-fail on boot. it contained my alt boot image too. not finding a card reader, I used my backup freerunner to fsck it

and the invasion of ukraine has been widely reported and called out
contrast with the reporting on the invasion of gaza
both invasions are horrible
one is reported as horrible. the other, as righteous.
that's the injustice that the article calls out

the church of emacs is a religion of freedom. it doesn't require celibacy, conversion of spouses, or even using emacs. IIUC it's enough to adore emacs :-) and to pursue a life of moral purity, avoiding possession by nonfree programs.
FWIW, more seriously, I've considered starting a local chapter of the church of emacs precisely to reinforce my philosophical/religious freedom when struggling against impositions of nonfree software by the government. it shouldn't be necessary in .br, because our constitution doesn't distinguish between philosophical and religious beliefs, but it might help elsewhere, and even locally. it may be advantageous to name a long-established church, even a humorous one, over making up your own, depending on how seriously the legal system takes religious freedom

fraid I don't know, I only came up with that possibility when asked to briefly look into what it would take to implement it in GCC, where I didn't think it would fit. I figured GDB had the full-program context it would take, unlike GCC, that sees one translation unit at a time, and that was the extent of my involvement. if anything came out of it, I probably wasn't told, but if I was, I forgot. FWIW, I haven't ever interacted with a language server, this was all an exercise of imagination many years ago.
