that's a lot better than getting automated birthday wishes from web shops that demanded your birth date for no good reason

lendo isso, lembrei de "despacito"
vai ficar tocando na minha cabeça o resto do dia :-/

consta que há plásticos mais e outros menos próprios para líquidos quentes. na dúvida, melhor evitar mesmo

heck, *even* if they prove to escape from existing vaccines, new variants are very much like new pandemics, and vaccines still protect you from the earlier variants. it makes no sense to refrain from taking a flu shot, or a polio shot, just because they won't protect from covid-19. even after some variants go virtually extinct, protection from the vaccine may still be valuable

the dereference is only apparent. sizeof doesn't execute its operand, only the type of the expression matters, and types and sizes are static in C, so it's all right. the most debatable point IMHO is that the variable is already in scope before it's initialized, but that's quite useful to initialize e.g. circular list, or one member pointing to another, so... it's all right, really. there's room for shooting your own feet, but C has never even tried to prevent that if that's what you wish to do, or even if it isn't ;-)

extreme example: would you reject mastodon for merging changes developed and contributed by trump's social media project? (is there an equivalent of godwin's law but s/hitler/trump/ yet? :-)

quando minha letra cursiva se tornou indistinguível de criptografia forte, comecei a escrever em letra de forma.
desesperador foi quando a letra de forma alcançou o mesmo patamar

here's a theory: people must show proof of vaccination to get into crowded places. the unvaccinated are denied entry, and therefore protected, whereas those with the imperfect defenses from the vaccine are allowed to join crowds and thus infect themselves and others.
could this contribute to explain the 1/100k difference you've observed in infection rates?

I've been thinking a lot about this, since the most recent episode of cancellation, that prompted me to look into what you actually said and wrote, and what was falsely reported about you
I think some significant part of the problem is language. we've long had words that referred to concepts that, for a long time, were taken as overlapping, but that never were, and now have split for good, namely sex and gender. This creates situations unforeseen by language, analogous to what lessig writes about in Code 2.0 WRT new facts that show spots that founding fathers did not think or rule about because the facts back then did not even bring the issues to mind. WRT gender and sex, I perceive different groups struggling to enforce the use of the pronouns with one meaning or the other, and rejecting, sometimes violently, the other meaning that is just as legitimate.
if this was engineering, deprecating the terms and coming up with new ones for each of the meanings might work, but alas...
