acho q vc pulou a parte em que eu escrevi "o que complica é quando o hardware não é compatível"
a parte de brigar com o componente pra ele funcionar normalmente vem depois de instalar o sistema. se nem sobe, não pode ser o seu caso, né?
não é nem questão de dedução, é que os instaladores são basicamente os mesmos. se um é "fácil" e o outro "difícil", o problema não é o software instalador, que é igual, é o hardware que a distro livre não ativa

na real, as distros 100% livres são tão ou mais fáceis de instalar que as outras. o que "complica" é quando o hardware não é compatível. as outras comprometem sua liberdade e segurança instalando software espião "pra facilitar", as livres deixam os componentes incompatíveis com liberdade sem funcionar. aí tem gente que insiste pro componente não-livre funcionar e esbarra em dificuldade aí, porque dar tiro no pé não é pra ser fácil mesmo

phew! it wasn't obvious indeed. there's my atypical wiring, but there's also the effect of tough times: I've seen allies turning against us in ways I wouldn't have imagined possible before it actually happened, and that's still making waves :-/

I compile GCC with GCC all the time
I've also used autoconf to update autoconf's configure script
but I think it's kind of hard to beat 'make make'
(is it GNU make that ships with a shell script to build it all, in case you don't have a working implementation of make?)

that would undo the work we've put years into of deconstructing the cognitive attack mounted by the MAFIAA on the average person that likens copyright violation to attacking ships, kidnapping their crew, violating the women and stealing the cargo. as bad as failure to comply with copyleft requirements is, it's quite hard to argue they're even comparable. please don't.

IOW, it almost sounds like it's nothing whatsoever to do with XMPP specifically; any other protocol would trigger all of these social issues and escape costs from proprietary bait that people have flocked to. the one bit that is specific to XMPP, namely the not linking your id to legacy phone numbers for tracking purposes, is actually a plus IMHO. no wonder so many of the currently proprietary chat walled gardens actually started their lives as interoperable XMPP services, and broke compatibility not because of XMPP limitations, but in order to shut the garden gates so people they'd trapped in wouldn't leave

por la poca información que has compartido, tengo una teoría acerca de la razón para que jami no te haya funcionado. me parece que tienes un sistema para 32 bits, y supongo que hayas instalado la versión de 64 bits de jami. eso no podría funcionar. (y si lo hicieras en tu sistema sencillo favorito, pasaría lo mismo)

si lo has leído y crees que has seguido todos los pasos y recomendaciones, quizás no percibas que, por lo menos en ese hilo, te has portado como el sumidero de tiempo, el luser a que esr se refiere en su texto. no me has dado ninguna información útil acerca de lo que has probado, qué esperabas que pasara y qué síntomas inesperados encontraste, en suficiente detalle como para que yo pudiera me interesar en ayudarte a arreglarlo. sigues creyendo que mereces que otros ofrezcan su tiempo para ayudarte mientras atacas a quien te ofrece la mano, y repites incansablemente la información inútil sobre como nadie te ha logrado ayudar, que sólo parece confirmarte cómo luser, sin jamás poner información útil en tus demandas. si no cambias tu actitud, ofreciendo información útil que invite a ayudarte, diciendo *qué* (y no *cuánto*) has hecho para arreglarlo, vas a seguir ajenando quienes podrían ayudarte, y seguir creyendo que eres tú la víctima. ¡no te quejes, muéstrame!
