If they did so that would be the first time the state would have any official record of our kids being homeschooled. Michigan has super liberal homeschool laws, other sates are quite different. I have heard in fascist California we would have actually had to register as a private school and the State would have authority to review what are kids are being taught a d if they meet government "standards" more-or-less whenever they want.

One of the bills that actually just passed was www.legis.iowa.gov/legislation… which includes awful provisions like, removing the exception to allowing those under 14 to work in street occupations & migrant farm labor, and removes the restriction which previously forbade 15 year old bag boys from helping customers load groceries into their car, and allows teenagers to work during the summer 2 hours later, when most teenagers would rather be awake than at 7 a.m.
