I remember American experts saying a year or so ago there was no need to worry about the Chinese aircraft carriers. Because they used antique launch methods, instead of magnetic propulsion, and weren't nuclear powered.
Guess what? The Chinese just launched a magnetic propulsion system that doesn't need nuclear power, with enough capacity to spare for laser weapons.
