I'd take maybe a different approach; infrastructure first (e.g. backend stuff storage etc).
You can also follow the Munich model in that they started out using FLOSS apps on Windoze first, then switched the OS later.
OR you could just rip the bandage off and do a hard switch....

@kz6fittycent i know that Linus from Linus Media Group in Canada is working on a project called Floatplane. should be live soon. ,a few months. i think if it does well, it will be a good alternative.

I don't use either of those applications/services so I don't know which came first, but is the problem with "open" platforms the fact that the almost always are an "alternative" to this or that?
I do like Mastodon, but the UX is kind of clunky IMO. I get the UX and the reasoning behind the layout but...I dunno. I'm not a Twitter fan, either BTW.
