@PapaVanTwee for me, firefox been that way on linux for the past ~5 years. I always have at least 2 browsers open, chrome and firefox, with firefox with js and cookie off.
if firefox js is on, it frequently freeze, max out cpu, etc.

the above is linux experience. 1 month ago am now on mac. so far, the firefox situation seems to be the same.

main cause is that they still 1 sandbox for all tabs, i think.

for Firefox, you might check your plugin preference. Because they are obsoleting them. The up coming v57 wll use a new engine, that'd be interesting to watch.

oh, i didn't know about vivaldi. Started only in April, 2016. interesting to watch. Terrible naming though.
