If it was about speeding up your actual shopping experience they would rearrange their staple items to make them fast an easy to find, instead of making you wander to all 4 corners of the store to obtain them.

@galaxis yeah there seems to be infinite possible alternative flour blends out there. I just settled on that blend as it seems to be a simple substitute for regular all purpose flour for what I normally make...pancakes, cookies, desserts like banana or pumpkin loaf etc.

I should try making actual leavened bread more often, that's the one thing I just buy at the store and it seems more costly than it should be.

@galaxis I have the best luck making my own flour blend for baking, though it might make for a heavier loaf (this works well with things like banana bread, cookies, etc at least)...

1 part rice flour
1 part tapioca flour
1 part potato flour
1 part chickpea flour
Dash of Xanthan gum

Could adjust the ratios to experiment, also I learned to not confuse "starch" with "flour" as they have pretty different properties.

I took French classes of some kind for 10 years (from Grades IV to XII, then a French reading course as a non-technical elective at UofA). I can read French alright but am a terrible speaker, having not grown up around any Francophones.

Also literally all my French teachers were from Europe or learned the language there, and the accent is rather different!

@dashie haven't tried using these to interface a matrix yet, but a PCF857x I/O expander or 2 would probably work

@ink_slinger finding decent non dairy nog seems to be needlessly challenging. As a non dairy eater I sympathise. There seems to be more inconsistency in the creaminess, even between different batches of the same brand.

I made pretty good home made non dairy nog once using cashew milk, though it did contain egg so of vegan is what you're after that isn't helpful lol

@ink_slinger perhaps it's my introverted nature but I'd probably prefer the company of a smaller gathering of family and close friends...at least that is where I felt comforted the most in trying times. That said, I'm sure some people would appreciate the support of others sharing the same kind of loss.

Unsolicited invitations like this though...can't say that's the best idea even if well intentioned. Not everyone may react well to this approach.
