Finally. The first decentralized collaboration platform for the healthcare industry has arrived. Decentralized, encrypted, open source and based on @matrixdotorg@twitter.com. Let's get started to enable meaningful communication between patients and doctors.
@jcgruenhage this rocks :) it's a bit confusing to call the self-signing key a 'Device Signing Key' (DSK) rather than 'Self Signing Key' (SSK) though - as it sounds a bit like you'd use it to sign others' devices rather than your own?
I’m moving comm to @MastodonProject@twitter.com and @matrixdotorg@twitter.com due to the high proportion of FOSS projects, like Manjaro, Rock64, PinePhone et al being on those networks. I can be reached @hackerfantastic@twitter.com:http://fosstodon.org & @hackerfantastic@twitter.com:http://hackerfraternity.org on each network.
#fluffychat Version 0.14.0 is out now and this is new: - Implement image viewer - Implement room pills - New chat appBar showing presences and room avatars - Implement well-known support - Minor fixes, refactoring and performance improvements
@morph we started standing up instances that federate with the public matrix network about a week ago. there's still lots of missing APIs (it has about 33% coverage), but it's advancing rapidly. In other words, it's late alpha, and should be entering beta fairly soon, at which point you can try experimenting with it in earnest. You could do so now, but it'll be a bit hit & miss (and we reserve the right to break the DB schema from under you)
@feld given there aren’t any servers in p2p matrix yet, there isn’t anywhere else to store msgs than the browser :) however, e2ee conversations (once dendrite supports e2ee) would of course not be plaintext
A few hours before we announced Automattic’s investment in New Vector, @photomatt@twitter.com was interviewed by @SamEndacott@twitter.com from @firstminutecap@twitter.com: nice trip into the origins of WordPress and Matt’s vision in general + Q&A from some of fmc’s portfolio startups! https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zIRKB5MTV38
@matrixdotorg@twitter.com @automattic@twitter.com @WordPress@twitter.com @NewVectorHQ@twitter.com This makes me really, really happy. The possibilites are so vast! I'm imagining a matrix-powered tumblr and also wordpress comments! But I'm sure there's a place for e-commerce in there too. Woohoo!!! 🎉🎉🎉🚀🚀🚀
@syster Sure, Automattic could just launch a Matrix hosting product themselves. Or they could instead fund the core Matrix team via NV. The benefit for Matrix if NV went public is that there would be a lot of $ around to keep Matrix development on the track. If NV was sold instead, it'd only be to someone who would continue to fund Matrix dev. Automattic gets zero benefit for decision making over Matrix through this, but they do get input into making NV a sustainable biz.
@rumblestiltskin Status invested $5M in New Vector to bootstrap the company and generally support decentralisation. We've also helped each other out a bunch on our respective comms projects :)
