Maybe when I finally go off the deep end, I'll write one finished version of a kind-of-okay song and then thirty variations on it like Beethoven did with Diabelli's waltz

I have a melody I call Postcards to Nowhere but I don't know if it's going to be an instrumental or eventually I'll write lyrics to it. It could be appropriate either way.

I have an ancient song that feels like it should go on this EP, too, for some reason, but I'd need two more vocalists to sing the round/fugue/canon/whatever you call it

I have four tracks I'm working on, but I have the hardest time naming songs.

I try to pick things that fit the mood and are relevant to both my life and the emotions I feel composing them.

Anybody else have tips on these things?
