Finished laying out the Logic tracks for mixing - I have nearly 3.8 hours of new Carbon 7 music to mix. A little of this will be culled out, or maybe tastefully faded, but this will be a whopper when it’s done. I just hope I can find time to mix. Got the overhead, toms & snare dialed in tone-wise before my ears wore out tonight. Still bone-dry. Need to pick some reverbs next.

So I don’t know if I’ve mentioned lately, but my daughter is building a spaceship. She’s an electrical engineer testing & installing components on the Orion crew module for the LM-1 mission. She’s pretty goddam amazing & I’m perpetually stunned that I raised an actual rocket scientist that works at NASA’s Canaveral facility. It’s like a dream. I put her through college by printing t-shirts with a fury. We’re kind of a team that way. 🙂

@djsundog @nowplaying An astounding vocalist as well. I think his voice really shines more on Innervisions, which I finally obtained in the late 90’s. It has some of his strongest songwriting, but Talking Book is a bit more raw & pure to me.

@djsundog @nowplaying My parents got Talking Book when I was 9 & I wore that damn thing right through. I didn’t know until a few years ago that he played all the drums on it, too. Perpetual favorite. Blame it on the Sun is particularly amazing.
