All that said yesterday, I'm not one to hold a grudge for very long. And I'm willing to forgive and move on.

As I said in my initial #Announcement about my role at #mastodon there was miscommunication, maybe across the board.

@Gargron said one thing to him, and I read another to me.

It happens, and I'm not above fault, neither is he.

It would however require us both to be willing to ask for forgiveness. And work something out that would be sustainable for the project.

Due to a misunderstanding, somewhere along the way, the one month contract was just that, one month only. I had interpreted it as “I’m not sure if I can make a new contract with the same terms, because there’s not enough money right now, but let’s start with one month and take it from there.”

Okay, I just came up with a great hashtag for the fediverse, regarding #FollowFriday, also known as #FF.

🐻 Bear with me, while I explain why it's so good, and why it will stick.

It's been suggested that we need a #fediverse specific ff-hashtag, but nothing interesting ever came out of it.

Today I saw #FFOS (Follow Friday on Saturday), and I was like, what if, instead of forgetting, we could do it every day, and #FFED was born. Follow-Fediverse, and Follow-Friday Every Day, rolled into one.

I like that we keep celebration people's birthdays even after they have passed on. Because it doesn't ever stop being the anniversary of your birth. It goes on and on forever.

Since my grandmother passed we've actually decided to try to celebrate her birthday, as our remembrance off her rather than the day she left us. I like this thought.

I have some thoughts on the Mastodon and Pleroma "rivalry", please bear with me.

Obviously we'd expect me to be biased for Mastodon. This thread isn't going to be about that. It's not about which is better.

Rather, what I want us to think about here is the opportunity for healthy rivalry. It doesn't have to be toxic.
In a healthy rivalry we can spur each other on to be better.

At the same time, I hope we'll be able to fulfill different niches in this federated market.
