I wouldn't be mad if BSD/*nix people want to jump on my instance, but beware it's Pleroma not Mastodon. Although it's like 99% compatible and we have the Mastodon web interface now, too... :-)
I plan on keeping mine up and running for a long, long time.

@lain we already knew what was running inside the ME. It was documented clearly and was known for years, but everyone ignored it as a non-issue.
My issue with the GPL is that it can never become an implementation standard. This has always been an issue that gets overlooked and it's why BSD is still around.
The BSD TCP/IP stack became the implementation standard in the early 90s because everyone could take it.
The MD5CRYPT password hashing algorithm became a global standard when we needed it most because it was BSD licensed.
BSD software produces standards. GPL software produces communities.
