@distel ok. but "the norm" is then again formed by what people consider normal, no?

so, i could imagine there to be two types of gnc: (1) you're gnc because you don't want to conform to gender, which means you'd have to adapt if "the norm" changes. (2) the way you are is gnc, which means if "the norm" shifts to include you, you're suddenly not gnc anymore...

@natrix @distel @error_1202 even though it might appear a bit academic, part of why i seeked this conversation is, that if we identify as [a], we must have a comfortable, intuitive understanding of [a], which requires a somewhat consistent image reflected in others understandings — and that's a work in progress...

genderqueer is a good word!

@distel @error_1202 maybe one could define gnc as "gnc to the degree that people start to doubt or disagree/deny (i'm lacking a precise enough word) your gender"?

apart from that gnc to me reads more like an action than an identity, with rather blurry lines as actions and identity kinda interact.
