Today I've been writing a story (or at least a portion of one) told first-person from the perspective of a Muslim woman. I really like the voice that's coming out of her character.

Rare day of very productive fiction-writing! Churning out pages today.

I've been here a year, but I'll do a new #introduction because we're getting lots of new people. I'm a historian, writer and climate change consultant.
I love: #history, #wine, #books, classic films, heavy metal, writing (#amwriting), dogs, the Tanakh, and my husband (#bipride).
I hate: Nazis, racists, misogyny, guns, conspiracy shit, the Orange Fascist, the usual stuff that people come to Mastodon to escape.

I am doing a series of videos on my YouTube channel called "Bond in Context," exploring the historical context and background of the James Bond films. I'm now up to "You Only Live Twice" from 1967. How do Vietnam, civil rights and the rebuilding of industrial Japan affect the Bond series? Find out!

This was me in the year 2000. I know it looks like I was about 15, in reality I was 28. Still amazing that so much time has passed since then.
