I haven't been on here much! Been doing my best to enjoy life. Husband, family, hanging out at the coast. Missing my favorite Masto folks though, so hello @ND3JR@envgen@craigmaloney 👋
It snowed here last night, on the mountaintops - snow in this part of South Africa is pretty rare, so my friend picked me up and we went driving over one of the local mountain passes to go through the snow, and took the doggies with us. This was just after coming down the pass on the other side into the town of Franschoek.
Not at all surprised by the Ontario election results. I have many friends in Toronto. They were surprised. I'm not. All Western democracies are going into incompetent right-wing governments. It started with Brexit and will continue.
A social media friend of mine (in the UK) gets angry when the media isn't reporting on "Muslim rape gangs." Anything that isn't that story--Brexit, royal wedding, politics etc.--is an example of the media downplaying the importance of "Muslim rape gangs." This guy is not known openly to be a bigot, but it worries me a lot. 😦
By the way, I speak on climate change, historical topics and the intersection of law and climate change. I was just working on a presentation to use history to teach critical thinking to business executives.
Lately I've been picking up some contacts that might lead to speaking gigs. And I already have one gig booked for June 26! Exciting that it's happening so fast.
I'm an audiobook narrator on ACX and Findaway looking to build my list. I particularly love narrating books with science fiction and fantasy elements.
If you're an author looking to commission audio versions of your short stories or novels (on ACX, Youtube, or elsewhere!) I'd really really love to hear from you. I adore this work and would like to do more!
Don't you hate it when that cute heavy metal guy you're friends with on social media not only cuts his hair and stops wearing metal gear, but now you only ever see him in a suit and tie looking like an insurance salesman. 😕
After 25 years of back pain, today a doctor looked at an X-ray of me and identified exactly what was causing it. And he said most other doctors would have missed it. I'm still in pain, but I feel like we at least know where the road to recovery looks like!
