@MoMartin @popstar I spent a lot of time with firefighters when I was tutoring kids and it really changed my view of them.

They no doubt have their problems with racism and sexism just like everyone else, but when it comes down to it, they save people with no second thought. They are up there with teachers and bodega owners in the category of professions I respect the most.

They just get it done.

@MoMartin @popstar Kinda, but it's just different. I can interact with firefighters much easier than I can with cops because I know firefighters will help people no matter how they feel. It's just what they do.

Cops on the other hand are taught and instructed to go after Black and Brown people, so the culture is a different.

Firefighters try. Cops? I don't think they try at all.

@MoMartin @popstar When I was doing Americorps back in the day, we used to go play ball against firefighters because they had a house near by.

They are straight up Neanderthals, but their enemy is fire, not people. They take pride in saving as many people as they can even if it costs them their own life.

I respect the fuck outta that, no matter whether we like each other or not.

@popstar I gotta agree with this. Firefighters are one of the few groups of people I'll give a pass on when it comes to racism because they FUCKING RUN INTO BURNING BUILDINGS and will save everybody regardless of their personal beliefs.

If I hear 'well if Black folks come to the polls', you will immediately be blocked.

The problem with nation elections has never ever been with Black and Brown folks showing up to the polls. The problem has always been white people trying to suppress the non-white vote while they vote for the most popular racists.

If we can't start there, we have nothing to discuss, so just move on.

I think the biggest issue we're all kind of worried about is are white women going to betray everyone again and vote for 🍊

Let's keep it real, white men are lost cause so we know most of them are going to vote for their idol even though his policies fucked their whole shit up.

Personally, I think young people are going to flip this election b/c they say what happened when they let their racist elders vote.

@nurotoxxyn Hard agree. It’s always like this when it comes to NBA players as if they are solely responsible for the social leanings of the entire country while the people who are actually responsible don’t get any of that same ‘criticism’.
