@bort I'm kind of obsessed with base building games (Fallout 4, Starbound) so I'll probably get in with both feet once I get ahold of it.

@bort @June I didn't pay much attention to it because it got panned when it first dropped, but it's slowly been gaining attention again over the last couple of years and now folks are kind of gushing about it.

I gotta admit that's impressive. Ha, especially the part you mention about it not costing us. They just did what they needed to do.

@June Yeah, that's the direction I'm going to take Fipamo in.

I'm getting back to the project so I can finish it and put it out and I keep looking at the set up and I ask myself 'why am I making this so complicated?'.

It's a blog. It just needs to present info in an organized way. Ha, so I'm trying to see how much excess I can get rid of.

I want something that's easy to set up and use. Not just for me but whomever wants to get a blog up and running without having to bash their head against a wall.

And I really like the idea of publishing flat files that can be served from anywhere because it's just easier from a user perspective.

Of course Fipamo will be about my own ideas of how this can be done, but in the end, it's just going to be files that can be hosted anywhere.

If need extra stuff, I can just build an API for it.

@June I'm hearing this from a lot of people. They say that dev team has really gotten it together.

You know, I don't really need a database for Fipamo. I think I'm just so used to using them as a default to store data, I got in the habit of just spooling one up when I needed to, but now that I'm sitting here thinking about a headless CMS, I think I can get away with not having one.

Of course this means I'll have to figure out how manage/search flat files, but not having to set up and manage a DB will really increase accessibility.

Time to do some reading.

Install to get it going, then just running a script that pulls everything together. Easy peasy.
