@bigMouthCommie so instead of connecting directly to say tier 0 infrastructure you connect to a jump box then the jump box connects to where you want. So that way if you get breached an attacker cant go directly it. Turns out you can just break into the box and pull the SSH keys from RAM but I guess that adds an extrastep
