It is an interesting thing being on good terms with your past self, and having your past self be on good terms with your current self.
The former requires seeing your past self complexly, not just as the idiot you grew out of being but also as the seed of who you are now.
The latter involves forgiving yourself your mistakes and also keeping a really close eye on your reasons for doing things.
