So I've been working on this. This is the first iteration and it looks kinda like garbage because, well... all the instances ARE THE BLOODY SAME INSTANCE, but I think it's going well and I like the other parts of the UI :D

Pleroma in german means "The Fourth Empire" and I think it's beautiful.

The chat app works, loading images works, sending messages works, keeping the connection alive works...

All I need now is a design that actually works (fuck Adobe XD with the broken ass dimensions) and message "groups" when they come in succession from the same user.

@lain say goodbye to your battery life, that's what the "issue" should read. Not even joking, that thing will make every single client burn through at least double the battery of a constant stream of data using the GPF protocol.
There is a reason if people use Firebase and GPF for stuff as simple as text chats and it's not because websockets are hard, but because Google pays good money to ISPs and real engineers to have working lightweight, long lasting and efficient connection protocols.
