@LibertyPaulM I'm more excited about the improvements to GNOME more than anything 😂
I think they were really trying to focus on the performance improvements more than anything

@kev @DistroJunkie I think I'm being a bit pedantic as for me a refresh means taking something old and making it *feel* new
@kev @DistroJunkie For example, we're replacing i5, 8GB RAM, 500GB HDD with i7, 32GB RAM, 256GB SSD
@DelusionalAI I think the former is more likely, but I love the idea of the latter 🤣
@DelusionalAI This is what's inside my suitcase:
@DelusionalAI WHY :P
@bamfic @DistroJunkie Unfortunately these are people who are in administration in the organization I work for
@DistroJunkie I know what it stands for, I wanna know why people don't use it that way :P
What is with some people's tendency to use ... instead of a straight up period?
Like, I understand when you're looking for a response but this happens in the middle of an email...but not like this use. It's used in place of a period.
Can someone explain this tendency?
Moonchild's Psychedelic Holiday is a good song for me, maybe for you too :)
@emsenn Awww so damn adorbss
@emsenn I'm not surprised she wouldn't stand still XD
@TomDienstbier I don't know why they didn't just partner with the likes of AdBlock and ABP 🙄
@emsenn Holy shit! PICS!!!
@sproid I certainly would choose that one as well
@mattmcnutt definitely! Contextual ads are fantastic! But how do you do contextual ads that are appropriate when you're browsing FB and the context is wildly mixed?
How do you avoid the taboo of putting a diaper ad after a post talking about a stillbirth
Follow up question:
Imagine this were a service like Facebook or Twitter. Same two questions
Would you prefer a free service that uses advertising based on:
Interests you periodically select during a survey sent out every few months/once a year
Or
Interests the service's organization infers based on your usage of the service?
@leadore Ding ding ding! We have a winner. This is exactly what DuckDuckGo does
@leadore Then you will pay for the service

Imagine the company provides a service similar to Google or Amazon. The survey is a barrier to entry in this situation.
