@ntnsndr I had a call with the union this morning, and it turns out that having remote members of a union local is not as tricky as I expected. We also discussed an umbrella organization for all union co-ops in the state, to bring us within range of having a benefits pool.

@ntnsndr, are there any unionized platform co-ops? My new remote interpreting co-op will be union, and I could sure use some examples of how to handle union membership with far-flung members.

@Stoori I can only speculate about the legality, but it seems to me that the amount of work it would take break up a book of any significant size into pieces that would fit within fair-use limits, and then store it accessibly, would be prohibitive.

@ntnsndr @omgubuntu I don't see a DE as reason enough to use one distro or another. Most distros offer 3-5 DEs as a default, not counting the command line.

@ntnsndr @tbeckett Let's not get too snarky about it. Ubuntu/Mint, as well as CentOS and dozens of others, are examples of the GPL working as expected.

@ntnsndr @omgubuntu Mint is based on Ubuntu. There is (or was) a version based directly in Debian, but I haven't heard much about it recently.

@Stoori I'm also seeing this. No idea why.
