Correction: don't answer it with an anti-Semitic view.

Also, by saying the Jewish flourishing is yet to be understood, I just mean I think there is something to their being the "chosen people" but also that God's gifts and blessings can be unconditional. This means He can bestow an ability to sing on someone or the ability to weave fascinating stories on another, and He allows that person, or people, to enjoy their gift regardless of their faithfulness to Him.

This is the problem with a lot of folks who think of themselves as "conservatives". They are trying to at once hold to a classically liberal worldview while also trying to take what they think of as a conservative position. The problem is, true conservatism, al la Edmund Burke, is rooted in the idea that the universe has a righteous king and that our lives and societies must reflect that reality on every level.
