Ah! I thought he meant "traditionalist", hence the love of hardwoods. lol!
I've loved seeing the odd pic of your projects, Chris. Hats off. I couldn't do all this. Well, I could, but it would take six times longer than it should and I'd have to do it full time to ever get it done.
@chris I'm going to stay home—but I work from home ... it would be a nice day to beg out of work and just read in the lounge with a fire crackling away in the hearth. But, it's Monday and the machine demands fuel.
We're going to try to blend. Respect some history—the house is a simple Greek Revival, but modernize. I don't want to live in a museum. Will post some pics or a vid when we're done.
@SierraKiloBravo Main section of the house is 1820's. It's on the historic register for our town, but the philosophy is that each person/family living in a home is part of its history. That means each one can do what they like with the house, but they simply ask each to consider the home's history and to respect it. No special permits/etc required.
Entering week two of the bathroom remodel. Last week the contractor got everything plumbed, wired, drywalled. This week sees tile, shower install, and painting. Will need to wait a couple weeks for the shower doors to be fabricated and delivered.
It's awesome to see the house come along, but now that I work from home the disruption is significant. Still worth it.
