I was invited in to a local Christian college to address a marketing class. I'm a marketing consultant and at the time owned an agency.
I open up with the moral dilemma for the Christian marketer: if humans bear God's image, have intrinsic worth, and are an end—not a means to an end—how do we justify manipulating them to our ends? How do we reconcile what marketers do with God and our faith?
I got the stink eye from the proff and bewilderment from the students.
